Low German vor Beginners: the word "being drunk"

The part of Germany I am coming from has a very special dialect. It is called "Low-German" and in an example I want to show you the wide spectrum of this various language.
Let us take the words " be as drunk " :

In Standard-German it is  betrunken sein  or  besoffen sein

In Low-German you can say:  duun ,  besapen  or sprüttenvull. If you don´t like this words you can also choose from benüsselt, bedümmelt, bekrüselt or besnapst.
You think, this are many words for this single circumstance? So let me tell you - that´s not all. As well you can say knille, schikker, rapsig or beswipst.

We are also very inventive to describe it in funny sentences:

For example He hett to veel Ballast is close to: He has to much ballast.

He hett en Brummküsel  means He walks like an humming-top.

He hett en Lütten sitten I like to translate with He has something small sitting close to him.

The meaning for he hett enen ünner de Mütz is just about He has just one under the bonnet.

You want more? OK, here we are......
If your opponent has blue blood and you want to describe his situation you say: He hett enen in de Kroon, what means, that he has something in his crown.

When his way of walking is not straight you also can say he hett scheef laadt, what means that he has lopsided loaded or you say he hett scheve Steveln an - he wears crooked boots.

Should he become aggressive you say he hett en Brand what means he has a blaze.

Finally I like to give out the sentence sien Tung geiht op holten Tüffeln. This you say when your opponent is babbling while he is talking and means just about something like his tongue keeps the potatoes.

You see - we have a very various language up here in the north of Germany. So enjoy the next visit - and drink a beer with us!

Danke für diesen, selbst für mich als hochdeutsch sprechenden sehr interessanten Beitrag. Man lernt eben nie aus.

    Cheers!
